Properties and origin of Cumaru
Cumaru originates from the tropical forests of South America, mainly Brazil and Peru, and is known for its impressive hardness and resistance to weather conditions. This makes Cumaru extremely suitable for decking, terraces, and other outdoor constructions exposed to harsh climates. In our timber trade, it is especially valued for its density, which is comparable to other premium hardwoods such as Ipé. As alternatives to Cumaru, we also offer other sustainable wood species such as Massaranduba, Jatoba and Garapa, which come from the same regions and share similar properties.
